Emergency Dentistry In Huntington Beach, CA | 24 Hour Dentist

Unfortunately, dental emergencies can happen to anyone, at any time. You likely won’t have a dentist appointment already in place if something should happen; it may even occur outside of our office hours. In those cases, give a call to an emergency dental clinic anyway. We may be able to refer you to another trusted professional emergency dentist in Huntington Beach if treatment is needed immediately. If you are able to wait for an appointment, there are steps you can take to best preserve the affected tooth or teeth to ensure that we can treat it successfully in Huntington Beach.

Lost Filling or Crown

A filling or crown can become loose or even be lost during eating, especially if the food is chewy or crunchy. If this should happen, a dental cement can be used to alleviate any pain or discomfort until you can get to our office to have the tooth treated. Clove oil may also help with the pain. A loosened crown should be cleaned and put back into place with dental cement. Our 24-hour emergency dentist at Impression Dental Care will try to reattach it, but if there has been damage to it or decay present, a new one may be needed.

Cracked or Broken Tooth

If a tooth has been cracked or broken, rinse the mouth with warm water to clean the area. Apply gauze to stop any bleeding. Collect all pieces of tooth fragments possible and clean them. To minimize pain and swelling, apply a cold compress to the face. Apply an over-the-counter dental cement to the area and schedule an emergency dentist appointment as soon as possible.

Dislodged or Broken Tooth

A tooth that has become loosened but that is still attached to blood vessels and nerves in the mouth has a good chance of being re-positioned. Visit our emergency dental office as soon as possible for your best chance of saving it. Apply a cold compress to the area to relieve pain. Over-the-counter medications can also be used.

If the tooth has become dislodged completely, recover it, if possible. Hold it only by the crown and not the root and rinse it gently. Do not wash it with soap. Put it back into its position, if possible. If not, keep it in a container of milk or saliva until you can visit our office to allow our dentist to place it back into its socket.
