Dr. Katherine Ahn, DDS

Dr. Katherine Ahn, DDS Dr. Ahn studied Biology at Loma Linda University. Upon completion of her undergraduate work, she began her journey into dentistry by entering the UCLA School of Dentistry, graduating with distinction in 1993. Dr. Ahn continued her post-doctoral training by completing a two year pediatric residency at UCLA, acquiring skills in orthodontics and growth and development which have proven invaluable to her particular focus on jaw and upper airway underdevelopment and dental sleep apnea.

Truly, Dr. Ahn is one of only a handful of clinicians in the country with her level of training and experience in sleep-related breathing disorders, cranio-facial pain/TMD, orofacial development, orthodontics and cosmetic dentistry. Ultimately, The Breathe Well Center is Dr. Ahn’s vision, and represents the culmination of her life’s passion: helping patients achieve optimal smile and health through proper jaw and airway development and stabilization.

Dr. Ahn continues to stay in the forefront of technology and the latest advancements and is committed to providing the best care possible for her patients by continually attending the nation’s top training programs to advance her knowledge and skills.

Dr. Chad Hicks-Beach

Dr. Chad Hicks-Beach

Dr. Chad Hicks-Beach was born and reared in Huntington Beach, California. He attended Marina High School and after graduating, attended UC San Diego where he received his Bachelors of Science degree in Animal Physiology and Neuroscience, with a minor in Mathematics. While attending UCSD, Dr. Chad participated in Track and Field for the first two years and later became involved in volunteering and outreach programs through UCSD’s Volunteer Connection.

After graduating from UCSD, Dr. Chad began an intensive and accelerated dental school program at the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco. It was through UOP’s outreach program, SCOPE, that he continued to volunteer.

Soon after graduating from UOP, Dr. Chad taught for a short time at USC’s School of Dentistry in the preclinical restorative dentistry department. As he started practicing in Los Angeles and Orange County, he became more proficient and honed his gentle approach. Dr. Chad has continued practicing dentistry, and stays up to date on dental innovations and continuing education.

In his free time, Dr. Chad enjoys gardening, cooking, and playing basketball. He is also an active member of Huntington Beach CERT.

Dr. Thomas King

Dr. Thomas King was born and raised in Southern California. After high school he attended the University of Pacific in Stockton California where he played water polo and was a member of the Delta Upsilon fraternity. Upon graduating with a degree in Chemistry, Dr. King attended the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco, California and graduated in 1978. Dr. King opened his practice in Walnut Creek, California in 1983 and was married in the same year. He is the father of two children, Max 27 and Riley 25. In 2010, Dr. King sold his dental practice and began a retirement. Finding that he missed dentistry and wishing to return to Southern California, Dr. King began working as an associate focusing on implant restorations for several practices in the Los Angeles and Orange County areas. His hobbies include snow skiing and scuba diving.
